Dark Clouds

What's New?

I've been chased by the Devil; had hell nipping at my heals. I've howled at the moon and washed away my fears with tears. I've dropped to my knees; begged God for forgiveness. I've climbed to the top of the mountain and walked through the valley. I've feared God and loved Him for his mercy. I've felt pain and loved beyond measure. I've learned that the journey is who we are; the core of our being. Here are the most recent pieces of me; shared from the rawness of my mind, heart, and soul.

And I Wept

I watched my Son suffer upon that cross
I watched as they beat Him
Mocked Him
Gambled for His cloths
I watched as He carried his death upon His shoulders
And as each nail was driven in
I watched as the spear pierced His side
As He struggled for breath
I listened as He cried out for forgiveness
For a sin He didn't commit
And then I wept for Him as His body went limp
But before this
I wept for you
I wept the moment of the first deceit
And each time you have forgotten Me
Yet still I keep watch
For those that wish to come home
Like your father I wait with open arms
To embrace my long lost child
I wait to listen to how you found Me
How you made your way back
Then I shall weep no more

Last Breath

She died in his arms
That single last breath
Out of her mouth like a whisper
Gently into his ear
I love you
He knew she was gone
But he pulled her tighter
Held her harder
And bowed his head a broken man
He mouthed I love you too
Though he knew she'd never hear it
A tear dripped from his welled up eyes
And ran down her cheek
Gently he wiped it away
As he had so many times in the past
His eyes clinched shut in pain
His heart breaking in agony
Yet in his mind her voice danced
I love you reverberating in an echo
Like a pebble tossed into a pond
Just that simple last whisper
Now a shout
As her soul faded away
He sat there with her in his arms
Numb to the idea of tomorrow without her
Her image ingrained in his head
They had so many yesteryears
And only one last yesterday
He pressed her head against his chest
Regretting all the things he didn't get to say
He ran his fingers through her hair
And held her hand one last time
She knew his love for her
He knew he'd see her again
But he didn't get to say goodbye
Instead he said I love you and I'll see you soon

Evermore

When I tasted the wine from your lips
My body was filled with the intoxication of your love
Quickly I was addicted
My heart could not get enough
The power you wielded could have broken me
Instead you lifted me up
Higher and higher my mind soared
My imagination took flight
In the instance our lips met I saw tomorrow
And the life we had built
I saw us in old age
Still walking hand in hand
In your lips I felt a fire unlike any I had ever known
It filled my soul with desire
A passion that coursed through my veins
I knew with you I'd never be alone again
In your lips I found the answer
One I'd searched a lifetime for
There was such a thing as true love
So I shall kiss your lips evermore
